We believe that sound fiduciary advice is the product of being great listeners and having a genuine passion for helping others. Our team-based approach results in wealth management and retirement income strategies that are both comprehensive and thorough, yet presented in an easy-to-understand manner.
Our team is comprised of a unique blend of professionals with well-rounded financial knowledge and over 75 years of combined industry experience. Our clients come from all walks of life; they are individuals, families, and small business owners.
Benefits of Working With Us
Fiduciary
The Investment Advisors Act of 1940 requires that investment advisors act solely in the best interest of their clients. It requires a duty of loyalty and care that extends beyond the first meeting; it is required for the duration of the relationship. All of our advisors are licensed as Investment Advisor Reps under the Act.
Independent
Independent advisors offer investments and insurance products from a number of companies. Convergence Advisory Group advisors look at many different options to determine what is best suited for a particular situation. We are your advocate, not a particular company's.
Objective
Being truly objective can be difficult and we think we are miles ahead by being conscious of that. By definition, being objective means that our advice is not influenced by personal feelings or opinions. Our advisors strive to make all recommendations based on facts and without bias.
Transparent
Unfortunately the financial services industry hasn't found it easy to be transparent. We believe in straight-talk and just telling it like it is. We understand that sometimes this means having difficult conversations with clients, telling them things we may not want to, and that they may not want to hear.
Team-Based
We scratch our head at why any advisor would want to operate as a solo practitioner where it is hard not to be more of a generalist. We have found that for most advisors, their past education and training dictates the type of solutions they provide. Our firm takes pride in that we have a collaborative team of diversely experienced and educated advisors with decades of combined experience.
Our Planning Process
Discovery
The initial time we spend together is solely to get to know you better and for you to get comfortable with us and our firm. We want to know what your most important goals are, what financial concerns you have, and learn as much about you as we can.
Feedback
We believe education is the foundation of a mutually beneficial advisor-client relationship. During your second discussion with us we will provide you with feedback that is specific to your situation and in an educational format. It's at this time you will start to understand where there are risks in your financial situation as well as opportunities that are being overlooked or underutilized. If you are retired, or closing in on retirement, the initial framework of a personalized 'lifetime-distribution-strategy' will be discussed. Our objective is to continue to learn about you in this meeting as well as provide you additional clarity on our process and how we manage retirement income plans .
Strategy Discussion & Initial Paperwork
One thing experience has taught us is that you will leave many meetings feeling like everything makes sense only to find you have questions popping up as each day passes. This phase of our process begins with a Q&A discussion with our Lead Advisor & Plan Coordinator. Our main objective here is to make sure you are comfortable with the strategies being adopted and with how we will work with you going forward. This meeting concludes with a risk tolerance exercise and paperwork to formalize our relationship.
Plan Implementation & Investment Allocation
Look at this step like beginning a chess game. Once all of the chess pieces are on the board we will get together to make our initial moves. We will allocate investment dollars and discuss next steps for any risk management and estate planning objectives you feel are important.
Initial Review
We like to set an initial review only a few months out from plan implementation. While things are fresh we want to make sure you understand the plan, the strategy implemented, and also know the basics like how to log into your accounts etc.
Ongoing Maintenance & Review
As fiduciaries, our objective is to meet with investment advisory clients AT LEAST once per year. For our retirement planning clients in the distribution phase, we require bi-annual reviews so that we can manage you plan most effectively. Beyond set reviews, we want our clients to feel comfortable contacting us when life changes and they think we can help. Lastly, we feel it's critical your retirement plan and advisory team have a plan in place in case the unexpected happens. Click HERE for our Retirement Strategy Team's business continuation info.
