Key Numbers for 2025
Every new year means changes to tax brackets and retirement savings plan limits. To help navigate the year ahead, here are some of the most important numbers for 2025 with a link at the bottom for a more complete list:
- 401(k)/403b/457 Contribution Limit: $23,500 (plus an additional $7,500 catch-up for those aged 50+). However, if you are between age 60-63, starting this year, you can save an additional $11,250 instead of $7,500.
- IRA Contribution Limit: $7,000 (with a $1,000 catch-up for those aged 50+).
- Health Savings Account (HSA): $8,550 for family coverage ($4,300 for individuals, with a $1,000 catch-up if you’re 55+).
- Estate and Gift Tax Exclusions: $19,000 annual gift tax exclusion per person and a $13,990,000 lifetime exemption.
